Contacts & reports

Once an automation is live, you can see who's in it, where they are in the journey, and how each step is performing — so you can prove the flow's value and improve it over time.

Who's in the flow

As contacts trigger an automation, they enter and progress through your connected nodes. The automation tracks each contact's position, so you can see who is currently waiting, who has moved down a particular branch, and who has completed the journey. This visibility is especially useful for branching flows, where different contacts take different paths.

Per-step performance

Each Send node reports its own results — opens, clicks, and bounces — just like a campaign. Because you can see results step by step, it's easy to spot exactly where a journey loses people and which message drives the most engagement.

insights
Reading per-node numbers is the quickest way to optimize: if a follow-up underperforms, adjust its timing, subject, or content and watch the next cohort respond.

Using tags and fields

Automations can label contacts as they progress using operation nodes — tagging engaged contacts, updating a field, or moving someone to another list. Those changes feed straight back into your segments, so an automation can quietly build the audiences you'll target in future campaigns.

Keeping flows healthy

  • Review per-step reports periodically and prune steps that don't earn their place.
  • Watch bounce and unsubscribe trends — automations send continuously, so issues compound.
  • Automation sends are unlimited, just like campaigns — only your contact limit applies.

To change the structure of a live flow, head back to the visual editor or ask AI automation chat to adjust it.

Frequently asked questions

Can I see exactly where a contact is in a flow? Yes — the automation tracks each contact's position, so you can tell who's waiting, who took which branch, and who has finished.

Do automation emails count against a sending limit? No — sending is unlimited. Automation emails go out through your connected provider just like campaigns; only your contact limit and AI tokens are metered.

How do I improve a flow that's underperforming? Read the per-step numbers to find where engagement drops, then adjust that message's timing, subject, or content — or rethink a branch — in the editor.
