Visual flow editor
The flow editor is a visual canvas where you assemble an automation by connecting nodes. Drag in steps, wire them together, and see the whole journey at a glance — no code required.
Building on the canvas
Every flow begins with a trigger node that defines who enters. From there you add nodes and connect them to form a path. Contacts flow from the trigger down through each connected step in order, waiting and branching exactly as you've laid out.
The building blocks
You assemble flows from a small, powerful set of node types:
- Send — deliver an email built in the AI Design Studio.
- Wait — pause for a set duration before the next step.
- Wait until — hold until a specific time or condition is met.
- Condition — branch the flow into Yes and No paths based on whether a contact opened or clicked.
- Operation — tag, untag, copy, move, or update a contact.
- Webhook — notify an external system as a contact reaches a step.

Branching journeys
Condition nodes are what make automations feel intelligent. Split contacts who opened your welcome email from those who didn't, and send each group a different follow-up. Because each branch is its own path, you can nest decisions to build genuinely personalized journeys.
Reviewing and activating
As you build, the canvas shows the structure of the journey so you can spot gaps before going live. When the flow is ready, activate it and contacts begin entering as they trigger it. Monitor progress and per-step results in Contacts & reports.
Design tips for flows
- Map the happy path first. Build the main sequence, then add condition branches for edge cases.
- Give people room to breathe. Use wait nodes so contacts aren't overwhelmed with back-to-back emails.
- Wire up both branches. Every condition produces a Yes and a No path — decide what happens on each.
- Tag as you go. Use operation nodes to label engaged contacts for later segmentation.
Activating and iterating
Nothing sends until you activate the flow, so build and review with confidence. After it's live, watch per-step results in Contacts & reports and return to the canvas to refine timing, copy, or branching as you learn what works.
